The two tools
The Research Institution Tool is for university and other academic, research intensive organisations. The question set within the tool for research institutions is much larger which reflects the breadth of 3Rs activities and opportunities that are available. This question set has therefore been divided into six key areas.
The question set within the tool for research groups is different to that of the Research Institution Tool. It is aimed at research groups who use animals in their research. Whilst shorter, it is focussed upon the key contributions that research group members can make to the implementation of the 3Rs.
